Private Channel Networks Provides Communication System for School District.
HENDERSON, KY - Henderson County School district was looking for a new, easy to use, web-based, communications system. They saw another Kentucky school system's web site, where they were running an Audience.Web show and decided to contract Private Channel Networks to provide a turnkey cable access communications solution, powered by Audience software.
With the Private Channel Networks solution they chose, they can run their own cable access channel, submit, information for this channel via a web-based software that can be viewed in any browser, and display this channel on their website, where users can watch their TV channel on-demand.
On their cable access channel they show videos produced by their kids and staff, such as cooking shows and book readings. They also show school announcements and their school district's information.
With the web-based software solution, users can submit information to their TV channel from anywhere in the world via the Internet - even home. So now, when there's an emergency school closing, administration can add this announcement into their TV channel without having to drive to the school. They also can now allow administration at all the district's schools to submit their own information to channel.
Also included in the Private Channel Networks solution was a way to display this channel on the Internet. Their Internet Channel is a replica of the channel display on the TV except that it is interactive and content can be viewed on demand. This allows for interested families to view their particular school.
